Artist’s Statement

The first thing you will notice about my photographs are that they trend toward the darker side of things and that they are either devoid of color, or have had their colors seriously muted. I have spent my life with a rather significant color blindness, and as a result my art reflects my desire to have people see things the same way. Removing the color equalizes what we are looking at and makes it so both me and the observer can examine the details in a similar way. Part of my artwork is the craft of storytelling, and I like to do that with the photos that I capture. I enjoy finding the shots that will tell a story all of their own, or inspire a story when looking at them.

About the Artist

At heart I am a creator. Typically – as an entrepreneur first – I create businesses, or at least organizations that have the capability of growing into self sustaining business entities. My co-founder in Willow Galleries, Seirrha Key, an artist as well that you can find on this site has been paramount in inspiring me to share my work with other people, and as an educated artist, has helped me to take a more professional and serious approach to my work as a entity. If you haven’t seen her work, please look at it as well, it is often simple and quite deep all at once, and has an amazing quality that will leave you searching for the story behind it as well.

I am happily married and a father of two boys. Most of my work is captured while traveling or escaping from the daily grind with my family. More often than not, what I capture is something that has inspired me in some profound way, and I hope what I have captured can do the same for you.
