Growth

Growth is a multilayer photolithograph on a hand dyed topographic map with hand worked sewn flowers. This piece discusses the transition of the artist as she explores her sexuality and fertility. During the time this work was created the artist had recently discovered that she has a genetic blood clotting factor that could cause complications with pregnancy and she then had to explore her options in terms of contraception during a time when politically speaking her bodily autonomy felt threatened. Growth is the physical representation of the artists inner monologue regarding her options.
