Congratulations! You have decided to apply for Willow.ai Galleries and we are very excited to get to know you and your work. Below you will find some advice on how to apply or some answers to questions you may have if you have not applied to a gallery before. If you have any additional questions or just need a little bit of help please feel free to fill out the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page. Our curator will reach out to you within a couple of business days to help out.

Let’s start from the top. This is going to be your basic information like your name, email address, artist information, and social media pages if you would like them attached to your page and account. The social media pages will be used in marketing posts in the form of tags to help increase the artist’s following. So, the more the better! If you have a business name you want associated and connected to your work, remember to include that as well. If you do not currently have that in place that is completely fine!

Once you hit “next” it is time to load your work! We know this page is going to look a little daunting but bear with us. This is all information you will need to provide in order for us to set up your page and get your artwork listed on willowgalleries.com. For the setup of your artist page, we require 6 pieces to start, but you can submit up to 20 pieces in this form. If you have any additional works to submit we have another form that will be sent to you soon. This is the same form you will use if you sell a piece outside of the gallery and want to remove it from the site or mark it as not for sale. You are welcome to submit additional images of your work that will be attached to the work page.

Title:

This is whatever you call this piece. Each artist has a different method of naming and it is entirely up to you as the artist. If you do not have a name for the work we recommend calling the piece “Untitled” and number the piece, to make it easier to track.

Image:

For the image of your work, it can be up to 4MB in size in the format of a .jpeg or .jpg. We highly recommend the work be of the highest quality you can provide and not be lower than 72dpi. We also offer professional photography of works and offer deals for artists showing with Willow.ai Galleries. When submitting your work please title your piece using the following example: LastName_FirstName_TitleofWork.jpeg.

Actual Size Vs Display Size:

The actual size of the piece is the size of the piece without the frame or base of the work. This could be the image size of a 2D work or the Height, Width, Depth of a 3D work. It is okay if these numbers are the same. This information is going to be used on the display page for each piece and is meant to give possible buyers an idea of what your pieces might look like in their homes. We do not require works be finished in order for them to be listed. We will work with the buyer and the artist to make sure the piece is delivered to meet the expectations of the buyer.

About This Piece:

This is where I want you to tell us about this piece and its history. What makes this piece so special? Is it made of found objects? Is it part of a collaborative body of work? What is the story behind why you made this piece? You are not required to fill this section out but it is highly encouraged. Note: If you offer reproductions of this work and as well as the original piece please note that here. In the case that you offer multi-sizes of reproductions please list those sizes and the price for them as well in this section.

Media:

This is just the general overarching media used. Is this piece a photograph? Is this piece a Ceramic Sculpture? Is this a Mixed Media piece? If you want to talk more in-depth about the processes used in this piece, include that information as part of the “About this Piece”.

Price:

This is the price you are asking for the original of this piece. All artists have different ways of pricing their work. Some artists charge by the square inch because it creates a uniform pricing across their work, others charge by the number of hours they have worked on the piece, while some charge by what they feel is the significance of the work for them. Some will charge by the weight of the sculptures and materials. Remember that for sales done through Galleries, that we will take a 15% commission to cover transaction fees.

Example: If you have $100 in a piece for supplies, then you increase it by the amount of profit you would like to make beyond supplies, let’s say 30%, so you list the price as $130.00 to account for supplies and how much you want to make.
